Machine insight: Rösler RMBS Engine Block Blast Machine

With the handling gripper and the built-in gripper jaws, engine parts weighing up to five tons are gripped and fed into the machine. There, the workpieces are rotated and oscillated during the blasting process so that, for example, the core sand can be removed from the complex internal geometries without leaving any residue and no abrasive collects there.

Instead of one large part, several small parts can also be processed in the RMBS. We adapt the respective system design individually to our customers' specifications. For example, we use simulation technology to determine the position of the maximum number of turbines required and can thus ensure that all parts of the engine block are covered evenly and efficiently by the blasting media. In order to minimize wear on the steel chamber, which is made of 25 mm thick manganese steel and lined with replaceable 15 mm thick manganese steel plates, and to reduce energy consumption, the outermost turbines can be switched off when blasting smaller workpieces. The turbines can also be set to the optimum blasting angle and blasting power for the component. Our experts will work with you to find out which solution makes sense for your individual task.
