The Rösler RMBS engine block blast machine is a turbine blast machine that is characterized by a special work piece handling the so-called manipulator gripper. This was specially developed for Rösler and can move in a wide variety of radii and angles. The RMBS is suitable for cleaning, sand removal and deburring as well as for creating homogeneous surfaces.
With the handling gripper and the built-in gripper jaws, engine parts weighing up to five tons are gripped and fed into the machine. There, the workpieces are rotated and oscillated during the blasting process so that, for example, the core sand can be removed from the complex internal geometries without leaving any residue and no abrasive collects there.
Instead of one large part, several small parts can also be processed in the RMBS. We adapt the respective system design individually to our customers' specifications. For example, we use simulation technology to determine the position of the maximum number of turbines required and can thus ensure that all parts of the engine block are covered evenly and efficiently by the blasting media. In order to minimize wear on the steel chamber, which is made of 25 mm thick manganese steel and lined with replaceable 15 mm thick manganese steel plates, and to reduce energy consumption, the outermost turbines can be switched off when blasting smaller workpieces.
